2020 Goldstar Series Rd 1 Feb 10, 2020

Tiger Kart Club held the very first round of the brand new WA Goldstar Series on the weekend at Cockburn International Kartway. The weekend consisted of practice on Friday followed by racing on Saturday and Sunday.

Our main focus as per every other series type competition is consistent results. This new Goldstar Series is a three round series totalling twelve races accross the whole series. Points from all races count towards a driver's overall series result therefore consistency is key. In this new series, however, the winner of the final race on Sunday is the winner of the round.

We had good consistent results over the weekend taking the most podiums of any team. We had our new team setup running, including our new team van and trailer, and marquees with air conditioning inside! We had eight drivers running out of our team marquee as well as all of our other customers who pitted under their own shelters. We finished the weekend with twelve podiums including one win. Usually we would aim for more wins, but as mentioned prior, this type of race meeting is important to consolidate consistent results and minimise risk.

Manuel Goria, a Formula One photographer joined us on Saturday to take some team photographs on and off the track. They turned out fantastic, thank you Manuel!
